Lead-In

From October 13 to 16, the International PV Industry Chain Innovation Technology Training Program — Philippines Session, themed "SAME SUNLIGHT, SHARED FUTURE", was successfully held at Yingli Group. The event brought together representatives from the Embassy of the Philippines in China, leaders from the Pan-Asian Climate Action Society (PACS), and more than 40 participants from Philippine energy institutions and photovoltaic enterprises. The program served as an important platform for strengthening China–Philippines cooperation and knowledge exchange in clean energy technologies.

In his address, Consul General Catalan extended warm congratulations on the successful launch of the training program. He emphasized that the Philippines holds vast potential for clean energy development, and that China's remarkable achievements in the PV sector offer valuable insights for the Philippines. He expressed hope for deeper collaboration and broader opportunities in the renewable energy sector to accelerate the Philippines' green transition.

PACS Founder Wang Xiaojun noted that the training program established a crucial platform for bilateral technical exchange and talent development. He expressed confidence that the initiative would serve as a starting point for closer cooperation between Yingli Group and Philippine institutions—particularly in areas such as clean energy R&D, project implementation, and professional training.

Immersive, Full-Chain Learning Experience

The four-day program focused on core PV technologies across the entire industry chain and their practical applications. Courses covered topics such as China's PV policy landscape, distributed PV project development, BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) applications, and off-grid PV system design and operation. Through expert lectures, case studies, and group discussions, participants gained a deep understanding of the current status, innovation pathways, and competitive advantages of China's photovoltaic industry.

Beyond classroom learning, the program also included on-site visits to Yingli Group's exhibition hall, the Jiahe Micro Villa, the Shiguang Park BIPV demonstration site, and highway service area PV projects. These visits provided participants with firsthand exposure to how PV technology is applied in industrial production, green buildings, and public infrastructure, linking theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

"We designed the courses to include practical demonstrations and localized case studies," said the lecturer for the off-grid PV system module. "Given the Philippines' island geography, we emphasized off-grid installation and maintenance techniques to ensure participants can apply what they've learned. Many shared real project challenges, and we provided tailored solutions based on Yingli's extensive field experience."

Cultural Exchange Strengthens China–Philippines Friendship

In addition to technical sessions, the training program offered a rich cultural exchange experience. Participants visited Baoding's historic Zhili Governor's Office and other cultural landmarks, gaining a deeper appreciation of Chinese history, culture, and traditions.

"It was my first time experiencing Chinese culture so closely," one participant said. "I was deeply impressed by its depth and diversity. The technology sessions showed us the potential for collaboration, while the cultural activities brought us closer together. I'm now even more eager to pursue future cooperation with Yingli Group and other Chinese companies."

Deepening Cooperation Toward a Greener Future

The closing ceremony on October 16 marked the successful conclusion of the program. Certificates of completion were awarded to all participants, recognizing their achievements and encouraging them to apply their new knowledge in local renewable energy projects across the Philippines—helping green energy reach more communities.
