Jointly Exploring New Opportunities in Microgrids | Yingchen (Xiong’an) Attends the Uganda Capacity‑Building Cooperation Matchmaking and Exchange Meeting
Jun 03,2026
On the afternoon of May 31, the Uganda Capacity‑Building Cooperation and Exchange Conference was successfully held in Shijiazhuang. As a rising force in expanding overseas markets within the solar‑storage sector, Yingchen (Xiong’an) Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yingchen (Xiong’an)”) was invited to attend and highlighted its UniGo microgrid solution tailored for the Ugandan and other African markets, along with the latest results of its project implementations. Yingchen (Xiong’an)’s General Manager, Yin Guibao, led the delegation to the event.
This exchange event welcomed 28 participants from Uganda’s Capacity‑Building Training Program on Industrial Cooperation, including government officials at various levels, parliamentary representatives, and researchers from leading universities. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the application of clean energy technologies and pathways for aligning industrial capacities. During the meeting, Hu Baibu, International Business Development Manager at Yingchen (Xiong’an), provided a detailed overview of the company’s UniGo microgrid solution. This solution features high modularity, intelligent operation and maintenance, plug-and‑play functionality, and automatic switching between grid‑connected and off‑grid modes, offering stable, reliable, and environmentally friendly power supply to remote communities, public institutions, and government facilities. Hu Baibu noted that, amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, global fuel supply chains remain disrupted, driving volatile increases in energy prices. As a result, the strategic value and urgency of clean‑energy alternatives are becoming increasingly apparent. Yingchen’s UniGo microgrid solution not only reduces reliance on fossil fuels but also leverages local solar resources to enable all‑day intelligent dispatch, thereby providing robust support for African nations in achieving their energy‑autonomy goals.
The event featured a spotlight on the company’s recently commissioned microgrid demonstration project in Kampala, Uganda. This project vividly showcases Yingchen (Xiong’an)’s comprehensive capabilities in tailoring customized energy solutions to local conditions. Following implementation, it has not only significantly reduced electricity costs for the local community and boosted power supply reliability to over 99%, but it has also set a replicable and scalable success model for regions with weak power infrastructure and low electrification rates.
The Ugandan delegation expressed keen interest in Yingchen (Xiong’an)’s plan to deploy microgrids on a large scale across local government buildings, public institutions, and rural electrification projects. A representative of the delegation stated that Uganda currently urgently needs cost-effective, rapidly implementable clean energy solutions to support its core development goals of achieving universal access to electricity and advancing a green transition, and looks forward to deepening cooperation with Yingchen (Xiong’an) in areas such as technology adaptation, talent development, and project implementation.
During the exchange, Yin Guibao stated: “Yingchen (Xiong’an) will provide full support to Uganda in advancing its clean energy transition, and looks forward to establishing long-term, stable partnerships with local government agencies, research institutions, and strategic collaborators, jointly driving the African green energy sector toward deeper and more concrete progress.” This dialogue not only strengthened mutual trust and consensus between Yingchen (Xiong’an) and Uganda in the microgrid field but also laid a solid foundation for the company’s further expansion into the African market. Moving forward, Yingchen (Xiong’an) will continue to leverage innovative technologies and reliable services to contribute to global energy equity and sustainable development.
