Yingchen (Xiong’an) attended the Pakistan Virtual Power Plant Symposium and co-authored the country’s first roadmap.

On May 13, Yingchen (Xiong’an), as the sole representative of Chinese enterprises, was invited to attend the “Workshop on Distributed Energy Resource Management and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Application Needs in Pakistan.” In an online format, the company systematically shared China’s experience in developing virtual power plants and presented real-world implementation cases, offering Pakistan a clear technical roadmap and practical business models that can be directly adopted.

This seminar was hosted by the think tank Renewables First and held in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions in Islamabad with online participation. Participants included Pakistan’s National Electric Power Regulatory Authority, the Ministry of Energy, the National Grid Corporation, the Central Power Purchasing Agency, various distribution companies, as well as numerous international organizations and enterprises. Speakers came from the United Kingdom, Brazil, Pakistan, China, and other countries. The event aimed to enhance the professional understanding of relevant Pakistani government agencies and foster consensus among stakeholders on the development potential and implementation pathways for virtual power plants.

Kang Qiulan, the company’s Chief Engineer, and Khubaib, the International Business Development Manager, delivered a presentation titled “The Development of Virtual Power Plants in China: A Demonstration of Yingchen New Energy Technologies.” They provided a comprehensive overview of the evolution of virtual power plants in China, their principal types, investment‑return models, platform system configurations, and functional architectures, as well as the management of integrating various distributed energy resources. They highlighted the company’s representative domestic project cases and used real‑world operational data to demonstrate the significant benefits of virtual power plants: reduced electricity costs for enterprises, enhanced capacity to accommodate renewable energy, and relief from local grid overloads.

The Renewable Energy Pioneer Organization is a research‑oriented think tank specializing in the energy and environmental sectors. Currently, it is developing Pakistan’s first national virtual power plant roadmap. Yingchen New Energy, as a key participating entity, has contributed China’s policy insights, technical solutions, and engineering expertise in the field of virtual power plants.

As a pioneer in China’s virtual power plant sector, Yingchen (Xiong’an) will continue to provide robust support for the development of Pakistan’s first virtual power plant roadmap. Through specialized technical services, it will advance the implementation of local pilot projects, demonstrating concrete actions to help Pakistan build a more resilient, cost‑effective power system centered on renewable energy, while also setting a new benchmark for China–Pakistan energy cooperation.
